Epitaph

Here lies what's left of Brothers Lehman,
Who, had they signed on as merchant seamen,
Wouldn't have left us in this plight:
I'm sleeping atop my cash tonight.

  • Every so often I have people chastise me about us paying off our house: "Your money could be making more, invested in something else," blah blah blah.

But I can LIVE in my investment.

  • Yep, If I had taken the money invested in my IRA and stuck it in a can in the back yard, I'd still have it. Well, maybe it'll come back in time for my retirement. When I'm 80 or so.

    Marvelous epitaph! Very New England.

  • May I pass this on to some friends? It's so witty and apt!

  • It's a bad time period now but the way of the financial world is a big picture thing. Ask me how I know. :)
