Improved
A night's sleep did improve matters, and I finished writing out the pattern: last night I was trying unsuccessfully to follow the chart so that I could write it out in words. May I just pause to note here how extremely tedious I find it to write patterns out in words? Yet I know it needs to be done, as some people are word people, some are chart people, and it's always good to have one to check against the other.
I just hope I got everything right... time will tell.
Duck! Here comes a random picture.

Nighty-night, all.
